Ottavio De Contarini is a minor character in "Sister In This Life I Have Become the Queen" but he is the ex-fiancé of Camilla De Castiglione and the husband of Isabella De Mare.

History[]

Early Life[]

Ottavio was born the son and heir of Count Contarini, after an older sister. At some point before either timeline, he became engaged to Camellia De Castiglione, through an arrangement between the two families.

First Timeline[]

Ottavio went through with his arranged marriage to Camellia, making her his Countess. They had children together. While their marriage was not perfect, they seemed content.

Second Timeline[]

Ottavio attended a tea party at the house of Lady Letoni with his betrothed.[1] Despite his fiancé being near the whole time, he fawned over Lady Isabella De Mare. Later on when the tea was being served, Isabella pointed out Camellia’s interest in the handsome new servant. Ottavio was infuriated, but Isabella soothed him by complimenting him, even giving her permission to call her by her first name, which enraged Camellia.[2]

Some time after Isabella’s banishment to a convent, she met up with Ottavio, who was still infatuated with her. Isabella took advantage of this to sleep with Ottavio, successfully become pregnant with his child. Ottavio then stole Isabella away from the convent, taking her back to the capital to make her his bride. His father was against this, despite Ottavio informing him that Isabella was carrying his child. However, the old Count died very shortly after, leaving Ottavio to inherit his title and allowing him the freedom to break off his engagement to Camellia so that he could marry Isabella. [3]

Relationships[]

Romantic[]

Camellia De Castiglione[]

Ottavio was betrothed to Baron De Castiglione’s daughter, Camellia. This is an arranged marriage between his family and hers. However, Ottavio is much more interested in another woman, Lady Isabella De Mare. This is hypocritical of him, however, when he gets mad when he suspects Camellia of crushing on a handsome servant. After Isabella tricked him into getting her pregnant, he called off his engagement to Camellia, leaving her heartbroken.

Isabella De Mare[]

Like many men in San Carlo, Ottavio is infatuated with the Cardinal’s beautiful daughter Isabella, considered the fairest lady of the kingdom. She takes advantage of this, pointing out his fiancé’s interest in a handsome servant, before soothing Ottavio’s anger with honeyed words, just to irk Camellia. It is later revealed that he gifted her a tiara of pink diamonds with engraving on the inside, although it is just one of many gifts she has received from gentlemen over the years.

Shortly after her banishment from the capital, Ottavio finds Isabella in the convent she was sent to. She tricks him into sleeping with her so that she becomes pregnant with his child, a feat which is successful, and he steals her away from the convent and takes her back to San Carlo. After his father dies and leaves him his title, Ottavio breaks off his engagement to Camellia to marry Isabella instead.
